Off-season is not just a time of year. It is a state of things. It is when places stop performing for visitors and return to speaking to those who inhabit them. It is when time slows down, relationships become sharper, stories emerge without filters. OFF-SEASON Formentera Doc Residency was born from this idea: to observe, traverse, and narrate Formentera far from the high season, when the island is no longer an image but a presence.
The call is open to directors, filmmakers, and moving image authors of any age, background, and career path: emerging talents, self-taught individuals, artists, established professionals.
The residency will take place in Formentera island (Spain).
from April 13 to 20, 2026, including travel days.
The residency is conceived as an open workspace: you will be able to write, develop one or more projects, observe, meet people, record images and sounds, follow your own rhythm.
The only requirement is the realization, during the stay, of a documentary shot and edited on-site, with a maximum duration of 15 minutes. There are no limits on theme, format, or language. The credits must include the logos of Formentera Film, Lago Film Fest, and Piattaforma Lago. The work produced during the residency may be premiered in July 2026 at the next edition of the Lago Film Fest in Italy.
