Graham Foy is a writer, director currently based in Toronto, Canada. His films, which often explore themes of connection, nature and loss, have been praised widely by critics including Manohla Dargis (The New York Times), Jonathan Romney (The Guardian), Jessica Kiang (Variety) and Marcos Uzal (Cahier du Cinema). His films have been awarded and shown at festivals around the world including Cannes, Venice, Toronto, New York Film Festival and MoMA / Lincoln Center’s New Directors / New Films. His debut feature film The Maiden was highlighted on several year end top ten lists and was awarded numerous prizes including the Cinema of The Future prize at the 2022 Venice film festival, the FIPRESCI Prize, Youth Jury Prize, Rainer Werner Fassbinder Prize (special mention) at the International Film Festival Mannheim-Heidelberg, Grand Prize at Festival du Nouveau Cinéma and runner up for the International Cinephile Society award for best debut feature film of 2023.
