Valerio Ferrara was born in Rome in 1996. After graduating in Art History and Performing Arts from Sapienza University of Rome, he obtained a diploma in film directing from the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia and worked as Marco Bellocchio’s assistant. In 2021, his short film Notte Romana was in competition at the Venice Critics’ Week. In 2022, his short film Il Barbiere complottista won first prize at La Cinef at the Cannes Film Festival. He is currently working on his first feature film, Il Complottista.
