Signplicity is an artistic research and design collective working in the fields of contemporary art, cinema, and accessibility.
It was founded in 2020 as a Piattaforma Lago project, thanks to the initiative of Anna Chiara Carlet (accessibility manager) and Fabio Zamparo (Deaf artist), as a space for experimentation dedicated to Deaf culture and cinema.
Signplicity is composed of young Deaf, hearing, and CODA (Children of Deaf Adults) professionals who collaborate in an interdisciplinary manner, promoting accessibility not as an addition but as a creative and transformative practice. At the heart of the collective’s work are Sign Language and Deaf Culture, understood as cultural, linguistic, and political resources capable of generating new models of participation, relationship, and cultural production.
Through artistic projects, festivals, training courses, and research activities, Signplicity creates shared spaces for encounter and dialogue between different communities, contributing to the dissemination and recognition of Deaf art and cinema in the contemporary landscape.
